On October 2008 in a middle of Ireland four Lithuanians decided to develop new basketball club. The name of the club is “Baltic Storm”. Idea of developing the new basketball club started while playing basketball for Piltown club. After unsuccessful start in Piltown club, new team vision started, - need to set up the new basketball club with the great name “Baltic Storm”. Training started in Waterford Crystal Sports & Leisure Centre. At a time we had nine active members with the team couch Mr. Stasys Jasulaitis. Word spreads fast. People got to now about new club and in two weeks seven more applied for the membership. So after one month Baltic Storm Basketball Club had sixteen active members:

Tomas (Šūris), Tomas (Tošis), Romualdas (Romis), Ramūnas (Ramas), Stasys, Saulius, Žygimanas (Žygis), Modestas (Senas), Artūras, Faustas, Evaldas (Efka), Modestas (Naujas), Gvidas, Vaidas (Laimis), Edgaras, Martynas.

Unfoturnally few members had to leave the club for their own reasons. Firs friendly game was played against Waterford Institute of Technology men team. Couch Mr. Albertas Kurkulis. W.I.T. won an easy victory against Baltic Storm with a score 48:41. Game with W.I.T. team left us to think about our mistakes and possible improvements; also new contacts were maid with Gorey and Wexford teams.
Second friendly game was played with Gorey team. Baltic Storm was celebrating it’s first five point victory.
